In October, the Office of National Statistics published the Crime Survey for England and Wales – which they termed “the best estimate of long-term trends in crime against the household population.” This showed that since 2010 overall levels of like-for-like crime are down by over 50%.

Since I was first elected, I have campaigned for new laws and tougher sentences on violence against women and girls, working with some exceptional organisations in West Berkshire along the way.
Laura has been appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice, with a focus on safeguarding, child protection and tackling violence against women and girls.
