Laura has been appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice, with a focus on safeguarding, child protection and tackling violence against women and girls.
This week Laura visited The Retreat at Elcot Park. The Retreat opened in Summer 2022 and employs around 150 people locally. It has been named as Britain's Best Hotel by The Times and the Sunday Times, topping their list of the Top 100 Places to Stay in the UK.
Last week I received notification from the Home Office that the Regency Park Hotel in Thatcham would be closing as an accommodation centre for asylum seekers from 31 January 2024.
Laura joined Michael Wilson, a retired Professor of Microbiology, who is doing weekly water testing up and down the Pang with Action for the River Kennet (ARK).
