For World Book Day 2024, Laura has launched her annual Short Story Competition with the Hungerford Bookshop.

The theme this year is: "The day I represented West Berkshire in the 2024 Olympics."

On Friday, Laura hosted a meeting to discuss Thatcham Level Crossing and the proposal for a bridge over the railway line.

Laura said:

Laura met the Foreign Secretary, Lord Cameron, to discuss the situation in Gaza on Monday. The former Prime Minister was appointed as Foreign Secretary on 13 November, approximately six weeks after the terrorist attacks launched by Hamas on 7 October.

Prior to Christmas, there was much discussion locally about West Berkshire Council’s proposal to withdraw the “Local Plan” for examination, and the Government’s decision to intervene.

Laura visited Speenhamland Primary School on Friday to meet the winner of her annual Christmas card competition, Angie Liu Ngai Ching, and present her with her prize. Laura said:

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to reflect on a few significant moment and standout achievements of people in West Berkshire.
