Following Laura's question in July in response to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) findings on fuel prices, and in anticipation of the CMA's next report due on Wednesday 1 November, Laura wrote to both Sainsbury's and Tesco to raise concerns about high prices for fuel in Newbury.
In her letters, Laura highlights that petrol prices in the main supermarkets (Sainsbury’s and Tesco) appear to still be 6-8% higher than in neighbouring towns like Wantage and Calcot, even though they are all operated by the same supermarket.
