At Business Questions, Laura asked the Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt to give Government time to discuss transport infrastructure in the south east of England so that she could outline local concern about the level crossing in Thatcham.
As part of her question, Laura outlined the frustrations of Thatcham residents who are forced to wait for extended periods at the levelling crossing, and she outlined a local desire for a bridge to be built over the railway line.
In response, the Leader of the Commons said that she'd raise Laura's campaign with the Secretary of State for Transport and the Secretary of State for Levelling Up.
Following her question, Laura said:
"The Thatcham level crossing causes unacceptable delays to far too many residents. I know that many of you have called for a bridge and that these plans have never quite got off the ground for one reason or another. It’s time to change that. I will be following this up with the Transport Secretary on how we can get this bridge built."
