In Parliament, Laura spoke in support of Greg Clark's 'Protection from Sex-based Harassment in Public Bill'. The Bill intends to protect people (mainly women and girls) from public sexual harassment, alarm or distress and Laura welcomed and supported the Bill at it's Second Reading.
Commenting on the Bill in reference to her own women's safety survey, which she held earlier, Laura said, "85% of respondents gave an example of somewhere in the town of Newbury where they had felt unsafe. And unsafe in the town at some point. And when specifics were given they were very much analogous to the kinds of examples and the kinds of harassment which this Bill seeks to proscribe."
Laura also welcomed the Bill as "an important and valuable tool in our long battle to completely overhaul women's safety."
