Help for households

The online portal for applications to the Government’s £400 Alternative Funding Scheme has now opened.

This is for households living off the electricity grid in properties such as park homes and houseboats who did not receive the payment automatically off their energy bills.

On top of this, the Government has announced that the Household Support Fund will be extended until March 2024. This funding, provided to local authorities, supports local schemes for the most vulnerable families and the extension will result in an additional £1.3 million to help those that need it in West Berks.

The support fund can be awarded for help with energy, water, food and wider essentials on a case by case basis.
