Following publication of Baroness Casey's review into the Metropolitan Police, Laura asked the Home Secretary about whether those "imbued with the structures and the culture" of the Met should be responsible for delivering the "fundamental change" needed within the force.
Commenting on the report, Laura added:
"Baroness Casey’s report is a shocking indictment of what’s been going on in the Met Police. But some of those now tasked with its reform, have been part of the Met for decades. We need to be sure those making the changes have sufficient independence to do what it takes."
