The Illegal Migration Bill returned to the House of Commons for Report Stage and, following her earlier speech on the Bill, Laura spoke again about the Bill's provisions and the amendments that had been made following Committee Stage.
Beginning her speech, Laura welcomed the agreement that had been made on safe and legal routes, making clear that the Bill seeks to "extinguish a route" - illegal Channel Crossings - and not the right of asylum. Laura also spoke about age verification and identification documents, building on her own experiences as a barrister at immigration tribunals before she became a Member of Parliament.
