In her capacity as Co-Chair of the APPG on the Western Rail Link to Heathrow, Laura and other MPs met the Rail Minister, Huw Merriman, to discuss the potential project.
The Western Rail Link would connect the Great Western Mainline - and by extension Newbury, Kintbury and Hungerford - with Heathrow Airport. It would bring huge economic benefits for the Thames Valley and West Berkshire, and would mean residents of West Berkshire had direct access to Heathrow (without having to travel into Paddington and out again) benefitting those going to the airport for work or leisure purposes.
The project has cross-party support from MPs across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and beyond (as far as South Wales!), as well as from stakeholders and businesses.
