On Monday, Laura met senior management at Royal Mail to discuss the ongoing issues with postal deliveries across the constituency.
Laura said:
"Whilst I am pleased service levels have improved since last summer, it is clear that some issues still persist. I understand that staffing levels remain the biggest issue, with 2 current vacancies in Hungerford and 4 in Thatcham alone.
I shared my concerns that constituents were not receiving their important letters from the NHS and Royal Mail have confirmed that these letters are being prioritised.
As services have improved, I was told that parcels are no longer being prioritised over letters. However, some offices such as Newbury and Thatcham have dedicated parcel routes.
I will continue to correspond with Royal Mail regularly on this issue and I will share updates when they are received.
If you have been affected by Royal Mail delays, please do let me know so that I can continue to share your experiences: [email protected]."
