On Friday Laura held a meeting with Lambourn Trainers to discuss the future of the racing sector and gambling reforms.
Trainers including Nicky Henderson and Jamie Snowden attended the meeting last Friday to discuss concerns about the new affordability checks that are being proposed by the Gambling Commission.
On 26 February there will be a Westminster Hall debate relating to financial risk checks for gambling. As a Minister, Laura will not be able to speak in the debate, and is instead continuing to raise concerns on behalf of the racing industry with Stuart Andrew MP, the Minister for Sport, Gambling and Civil Society directly.
Speaking about the meeting, Laura said:
“I couldn’t be prouder to represent the best racing trainers in the country. It was a pleasure to sit down with some of them on Friday in Lambourn to discuss how we can ensure affordability checks don’t damage racing.”
