On Tuesday Laura met the Flooding Minister, Robbie Moore MP, and representatives from the Environment Agency to discuss flooding in Lambourn.
The meeting was held at the Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs following a separate meeting with the Secretary of State about Thames Water’s environmental performance. Laura said:
"I made it clear to the EA that I consider them to have fallen short in their duty as a regulator. The Minister and I set out a series of actions that we expect from the EA, not least engaging a hydrology engineer to undertake an assessment of the water flows between Upper Lambourn and the main village. This was requested by the Parish Council when we met last week.
We have also asked the EA for details on their monitoring levels and how they will put pressure on Thames Water to carry out urgent improvement works."
