In Parliament

In Parliament, Laura has a particular interest in employment issues, the environment, education, young people and justice. She has previously been a member of the Home Affairs Select Committee, the Justice Select Committee and the Standards Committee. She currently sits on the Speaker's Conference, which was established in June 2022 to consider the employment conditions of Members’ staff in order to ensure a more inclusive and respectful working environment. 

Laura is also active on a number of All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs). She Chairs the APPGs on Pro Bono and Public Legal Education, Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Kidneys, and the Western Rail Link to Heathrow. She is also a member of the Environment and AEAT Pensions APPGs. Laura is also a member of the Conservative Environment Network, a caucus of Conservative MPs driving environmental action.

She is currently Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Deputy Prime Minister, and was previously PPS to the Foreign Secretary and the Environment Secretary.
