In celebration of World Book Day, I am teaming up with Hungerford Bookshop to launch my annual short story competition for all primary school pupils in the Newbury constituency.
This year the theme is “Newbury” and the short story should include the sentence: “Everyone on Northbrook Street stopped and stared”.
Entries should be emailed to me directly at Laura.Farris.MP@parliament.uk by midnight on Friday 18th February by a parent, guardian or teacher and should include the following information:
- Name of child and name of a parent/ guardian.
- The age of the entrant
- Their full address
- Their short story:
- The email address of their parent/ guardian.
I will pick two winners: one from Years 1, 2 & 3 and one from Years 4, 5 & 6. I will announce the winners on World Book Day (Thursday 3rd March) and they will receive a specially selected book from Hungerford Bookshop.
