The Business Secretary had, last month, asked the Competition and Markets Authority to undertake a review of fuel prices following the Government's 5p per litre fuel duty cut, which was enacted as a measure to support families affected by the rising cost of living. The CMA responded with an acknowledgement that the evidence suggested that fuel prices in rural areas were higher than in urban areas and the CMA has now launched a further investigation into fuel prices across the UK.
