Laura discusses Crossrail and local transport in the House of Commons

Thursday, 19 May, 2022

During a debate on transport in the House of Commons on 19 May, Laura celebrated the upcoming opening of the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail), which will shorten journey times from Newbury station to Canary Wharf to an hour, and she also raised her frustrations with GWR's May timetable which has reduced the number of direct services west of Newbury. She has spoke about her campaign for a direct bus route between Newbury and Oxford - and other settlements on the A34 corridor - which has the support of West Berkshire Council and will, hopefully, receive funding from the Department for Transport under the Bus Service Improvement Plan.
